OK, forget the halothane. What about putting crushed sleeping pills on
their food and in their water and then using CO2 on the batches of mice
as they fall asleep? Would they sleep until dead, without gasping and
being all stressed out?
Or for that matter, would it be possible to overdose mice on sleeping
pills or anything else that does not cause them any pain at all, keeping
in mind that these mice wont be used as feeders?

| Well someone suggested Melatonin 3mg. (which is over-the-counter and
found in the herbal section) Boy this stuff is just what I have been
needing. I go blankey night night right away after taking just 1 pill,
sleep all night, get my deep sleep, and dont wake up with a hang
over. I guess from what I have read that this stuff is natures way of
inducing sleep. Anyway I would highly recomend this stuff to anyone
with sleeping problems. I guess it is safe to take long term? Does not
seem to be addictive. It is inexpensive. And best of all I will no
longer have to fight with my doctor to try to get something that
works. We will both be happy about that! |
| Mr Brutus of Wyde:
You must of used these sleeping pills thousands of times because you sure
can pass judgement on what they do. You sure must have numerous 8000m peaks
under your belt. So tell us. |
| Which sorta brings me to a question. Are sleeping pills addictive? If
I cant drive through life, Ill sleep through it. Also, can alarms and
stuff still wake people up with about the same ease when youve had
over-the-counter sleeping pills? I dont want dad to come home from work
and think Im in a coma or something and then go insane from the alarm. :)
Yes. Over-the-counter sleeping pills can be addictive (speaks from
experience -_-;;),
Damn! How addictive? The drug store is your pusher and your parents throw
you in detox while you ruin any hope of a future addictive, or just I
could sure use a sleeping pill right now. Oh well. for a couple weeks or
what? Please say the second option or an alternate thats about equal.
It depends on how sensitive to such medicines that you are. For me it
would probably be option one, but for someone whos system isfairly
tolerant to such drugs it would probably be option two. |
| I have also read of this, but only for expeditions rather
long ago. For quite some time it has been known (sorry
I dont have a reference) that sleeping pills suppress
breathing. Not good when you are low on air already. |
